Luyao is an architectural designer and researcher who explores the intersections of design, technology, philosophy, media, and culture. He is dedicated to discovering ways of living together within the current day and the future, through which we are able to meet challenges from political, social, economic, and ecological crises collectively. In order to do this, by focusing on the multi-scalar questions that emerge at the crossroads of architecture, urban design, and planning, Luyao seeks to rethink the roles that various architectural typologies play in responding to these critical issues. Through typological analysis of historical case studies, he aims to develop profound arguments that contribute to new architectural practices.
Luyao joined SEAM in December 2024 following his role as a Part 2 Architect at Farshid Moussavi Architecture (FMA), where he participated in many projects of a variety of types in different countries across Europe, Mid East, and Asia.
